PUNs in the SUN

"Puns in the Sun" is a series of stop-motion animations created entirely from cyanotype-printed fabrics. This experimental project combines the unique texture of cyanotype with the lighthearted energy of summer, exploring the season’s vibrant warmth through refreshing, cool blue tones. Each frame is made by exposing fabric to sunlight, capturing the essence of summer directly within the materials themselves.

The project consists of ten animated loops, each paired with a playful pun related to summer, such as “eye’s cream” and “grill power.” The animations celebrate the humorous and whimsical moments of summer, blending visual wordplay with the tactile nature of cyanotype printing to create an immersive experience that contrasts the heat of the season with the coolness of the blue imagery.
